Today is National Beer Day, and with all this warm weather, ale we’ve been craving is a nice, cool craft beer with our buds — and maybe you have too. In honor of this, we’ve gathered a list of 10 local breweries to check out. |
|
|
🍺 S27 Alehouse & Brewery | 461 Perrymont Ave. The husband-and-wife-run brewery specializes in easy drinking lagers + European-style beers. Co-owner Kathy recommends their Diabel, an Irish Red Ale back by popular demand. 🍺 Uproar Brewery | LVL, 439 First St.
Get ready for a good time… This brewery has arcade games, live music, and fun social events like trivia + karaoke. Pucker up with their Guavasaurous Rex sour.
🍺 Strike Brewing Co. | 2099 S. Tenth St., Unit 30
Strike currently sits at the top of Metro’s 2021 list of best craft canned beers. If you’re looking for food to go along with your beer, they also regularly feature local pop-up food truck vendors. Pssst… tomorrow they’re releasing two new beers: Pine Tar Incident (a West Coast IPA) + Nectar of the POGs (a sour ale with passion fruit, orange and guava). |

|
🍺 Hapa’s Brewing Company | 460 Lincoln Ave, Ste. 90 Escape the heat + crack open a cold one in Hapa’s open-air patio. Keep an eye out for some of their newest cans: Thor's Helmet Hazy Double IPA and Brave Noise Pale Ale. 🍺 DTSJ Brewing Co. | 370 S. 22nd St., Ste. A
One of the newest breweries on this list, DTSJ has a top-tier music system + hosts special vinyl nights. The DTSJ team recommends their SJ All Day blonde ale and Flow, an old-school West Coast IPA.
Get our full list below — then let us know if we missed any of your faves or if you have any specific brew recommendations. |

Talk about a ghost from the past… 👻
A local Redditor discovered a 24-year-old coupon nestled in a book she purchased from a used bookstore in Montana. This coupon was for Inca Gardens, a local Peruvian + South American restaurant that once stood at 87 E. San Fernando St. Inca Gardens closed their doors in the early 2000s, but its legacy lives on in this preserved coupon. 🧾
